CBI Registers Two Separate Cases Against Delhi & Nagpur Based Private Companies And Others For Alleged Irregularities In Coal Block Allocations Published on March 27, 2014 by News Desk · worst free throw ever No Comments Print This Post
The first case has been registered U/s 120-B, 420, 468, 471, 409 of IPC and relevant sections of the PC Act, 1988 against Nagpur based private company & its owner / promoter; unknown public servants and others on the allegations that the private company got a coal block allocation at Takli Jena Bellora, Chandrapur (Maharashtra) by furnishing false information. The company was non existent at the time of allocation. The said private party was allocated coal block in the year 1998 for captive use of the coal in their proposed power plant. Though the policy of the Govt was that the coal blocks would be allocated for captive use only, the mining lease deed executed by the company with the Govt. of Maharashtra did not incorporate the condition of captive consumption of the coal. The mine plan was forged which facilitated the non captive use of coal. Mining started since the year 2000 without setting up of the proposed power plant and the coal extracted from the block was sold in the market. This led to an alleged misappropriation to the tune of Rs. 10 crores(approx).
The second case has been registered under section 120 B r/w 420 of IPC & 13 (1) (d) r/w 13 (2) of PC Act 1988 against Delhi based private company & its promoter worst free throw ever / Directors; then members of 35th Screening Committee and others in respect of allocation of Fatehpur Coal Block in Chhatisgarh. It is alleged that company had misrepresented on aspect of networth to get coal block and Screening Committee deliberately did not follow the guidelines and showed undue favour to the company.
