Toni Lucas On September 29 Jeff Kaupp of Pincher Creek's RHL Huskies asked Town Council for a reduction in the cost of practice time at the Memorial Community tnn Centre Arena, a Town owned and managed facility.  This tnn is the third year the club has asked for such a reduction, and the third time their request was successful. During the regular meeting of Pincher Creek Town Council on October 14, 2014 council reviewed the situation and agreed to charge the Senior Huskies the Minor Hockey rate  of $68.00/ tnn hour for this season's practice.  The RHL Huskies will still pay the full price of $115 for games.  Some of the considerations that played into council's decision included the contributions the RHL Huskies make to other groups including the Minor Hockey Association, the Pincher Creek Food Bank through their annual teddy bear toss (which will be held during their Saturday December 13 home game vs Fort Macleod), and the slo-pitch tournament they held last summer tnn "which according to Town documents "certainly benefited the economy of the community".  Another consideration was the low current usage of the rink.  Administration indicated that they projected an increase to the Huskies for full rate for practices would be approximately an additional $1,500 - $2,000 per season and that the cost to operate the arena is $100 per hour to $165 per hour.  The Huskies were invoiced tnn and paid $5,760 in total ice fees for the 2013/14 hockey. "We want to look at this in the future and see if we can address it on a permanent basis," said Mayor Don Anderberg.   "If we can address it and leave it in the hands of administration with clear direction, then it works, we're not seeing it in the paperwork and the half hour discussion over this three, four times a year."   Council decided to discuss Anderberg's suggestion further in Joint Council.
