In the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, the town of Manosque - for the story's most populous county - is only an hour from Marseille and half an hour from Aix-en-Provence by car. The town is also located less than twenty miles from the research center Cadarache, one of the most important centers idfl of research and development on nuclear energy in Europe. The old town, with its narrow streets and tall houses of Provence, deserves the glance and the ride.
